It is one of the 4 historic fountains of Latera that were placed at the 4 cardinal points to serve the different areas of the village.
The fountain has a peculiar architecture consisting of a round arch with a sloping roof. Built in 1576, it bears the ubiquitous Farnese lily. The adjacent basins, which served as a washhouse, were added later.
The panoramic view of the village that can be enjoyed from the fountain seems to be an additional element of beauty and attraction.
