Eight brand new smart benches have been installed in Latera, which, thanks to photovoltaic panels, allow smartphones and tablets to be recharged.
They have been installed in the most frequented places in the town and are part of an overall project to upgrade the area. The benches of this type have been placed in the following streets: via Roma, viale 1 Maggio, piazza del volontariato e del soccorso, piazza San Clemente, and via Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa.
More will be coming soon.
"The benches in all will be 10/11," says Latera Mayor Francesco Di Biagi, "along with a rack for electric bike sharing bicycles. These initiatives were financed with funds from the PNNR project in the part that deals with ecological transition. We wanted to choose a product that was on the cutting edge in terms of technology, but that would also blend well with our medieval center, giving an extra boost to our small village, going for an ecological and sustainable factor."
The benches are called "Panka 35" and are two meters long, and feature solar and stand-alone and induction charging points and shelf with integrated photovoltaic cells and LED backlighting.
